At Cal U, you can now sit in the Natali Student Center and check email from your wireless device while drinking coffee. You can research information on the Internet while sitting at a table in the library while reading a book.

How is this possible? It's possible through the Cal U wireless network!

For the most part, students and other Internet users have been bound to wired connections in order to access the Internet. But for Cal U students, the restriction of wired connections to the Internet has now been broken thanks to the recent wireless network implementation here at Cal U.

Wireless networking allows a person using a laptop computer to access the Internet without the need for a physical, wired connection from the laptop to a network port or phone line.

What does this mean? A laptop user does not have to stay confined to the indoors to check email or access the vast resources of the Internet. Using Cal U's wireless network, a laptop user can access the Internet away from a desk, and maximize the usage of the laptop computer.
